The plain weave is the simplest and most basic type of the three basic weaves. It is a simple pattern of parallel threads that are woven in such a way as to form a horizontal or vertical line. The number of warp (vertical) threads and weft (horizontal) threads used in the weave determines the geometric size of the fabric. Thanks to its simplicity, it is also the most inexpensive weave.
